Belfiglio Design Inc. started out as an Interior Design business, but quickly morphed into what went on the walls rather than in the rooms.
Someone said to me recently, “You paint the feeling of what it is to be there” which was a great compliment because that’s what I strive to do. I have been fortunate to travel extensively and connect on a visceral level with many places, each with a different “feel”. To me, a good landscape painting should transport the viewer, even if only for a few seconds, to another place or time, to feel the sun on his face, or smell the fragrance of the land. I love the culture of the wine country, from northern California where I grew up, to Washington State. I work primarily in acrylic and watercolor and particularly enjoy painting subjects evoking the good life, bunches of grapes, vineyards and hills in all seasons, and homes in special places.
Besides my visual art, I am also a musician. I have played viola in many orchestras up and down the west coast. My field is non profit Arts Administration and after raising a family and a busy career, I find myself able to return to my first love, painting.
